TCPC was incorporated in 1973 as a non-profit corporation for the exclusive benefit of Airstream owners.
A Little TCPC History: The Tennessee Unit of the WBCCI began its search for a campsite in 1967. In 1972 Ben
Houser, Al Terrell and Boyd Reynolds found 376 acres high on the Cumberland Plateau. These former
logging parcels belonged to the Southwest Investment Company. The land was purchased for $58,000.
A well-attended membership meeting was held at the temporary campground site on August 26, 1972,
whereby Ben Houser named various work committees and outlined their respective duties and
responsibilities in order of priority.
With enthusiasm running high, Ben Houser organized a series of work sessions beginning November 3,
1972, and continuing well into snowy December, 1973. Laughter, handshaking and hugs welcomed the
arrival of the first trailers.
While the men surveyed, cut brush, and ran percolation tests, the wives were back at the camp cutting and
burning brush, raking leaves and preparing pot luck suppers and homemade pies. Some of the best
memories of the early years occurred at these pot luck suppers.

About our Clubhouse:
Our 5,000 sq. ft. clubhouse provides an excellent
opportunity for making new friends. Checkout
the clubhouse bulletin boards for sale items,
trails, and local events. The clubhouse has a
computer room and is now equipped with wi-fi.
TCPC has an excellent lending library including
videos and DVD's. Also, the clubhouse parking
lot has designated spaces for golf carts and
bicycles.
The member-built clubhouse features a large
Crab Orchard Stone fireplace, a fully equipped
raised stage, a regular size pool table, computer
service, free telephone for local calls, a copy
machine, a 2nd floor Board Room with air
conditioning, and a fully-equipped commercial
kitchen operated by the Ladies Auxilliary.
Members have access to sparkling clean
restrooms with ceramic tile shower stalls, a
commercial grade coin operated laundry, a free
ice cube dispenser, and plenty of dry firewood.
A "meditation garden" designed with native
plants and Crab Orchard sandstone is adjacent
to the clubhouse. It provides a quiet place to
meditate and remember our past members and
the soldiers who gave their lives and limbs for
our freedoms.
About our Trails Network:
Our extensive network of member-built trails winds
throughout our 376 acres. Most trails have been
built to be accessable to golf carts to make
exploring easier.
Our trail network is maintained by our Trails
Committee that keeps the trails cleared, removes
debris and maintains the trail signage and maps.
Maps of all our trails are available in the
Clubhouse. Or click on the map below for a larger
copy you can print and take with you as you
explore!
